Family Fun Day

It has been two long years in which Adur East Lions have not been able to hold the Donkey Derby and Classic Vehicle Rally and so two years in which funds have been severely restricted. 

Despite this the Lions have held a couple of on-line quizzes and also taken their sleigh around the streets of Southwick bringing in sufficient funds to support the food bank each month and also make other worthy donations. 

However, there will now be a Family Fun Day at Buckingham Park from 11 am to 4 pm on Sunday 5 September.  All the usual attractions will be there – classic cars, beer tent, tea and cakes, games stalls, arena events and music.  The only thing missing will be the donkeys. The event is being shared with International Neighbours who will have two stalls and will be providing entertainment from other countries.  The cricket club and rugby club will also have a presence, encouraging local people to take up their sports.

Hopefully the Donkey Derby and Classic Vehicle Rally will be back in its full glory next year – usually on the last Sunday in Whitsun week.
